Rules and Decisions

The Provisional Rules for the Electricity Balancing Mechanism (Rules for the Balancing Mechanism) regulate the balancing market including the responsibility for balancing electricity market participants, the rights and responsibilities of balancing service providers, the pricing mechanism for used balancing services by the Transmission System Operator, the mechanism for determining the prices of imbalances, financial compensation of imbalances of the parties responsible for balancing and other issues related to market operation according to the requirements arising from Law no. 43/2015 “On the Electricity Sector” in force and the legal framework of the Energy Community.

The aim is to provide an efficient and non-discriminatory balancing mechanism, which will encourage market participants who are responsible for balancing to maintain the balance of the system as well as to provide balancing services.
