OST sh.a. operates the network in accordance with the provisions of Law 43/2015 “On the Electricity Sector”, the Transmission Grid Code, the Electricity Market Model, bilateral or multilateral agreements and other applicable legal acts.

The Transmission System operates in accordance with all ENTSO-E guidelines and policies, in particular the provisions of the Transmission System Safety and Operation Guide (SO GL).
- using the best modern techniques on the operation of the transmission system and its components,
- ensuring a balance between electricity generation, exchange and consumption.
OST sh.a. in terms of operation, in fulfilling its roles, performs the following activity:
1. Operation of the transmission system at the border with the network users, in accordance with the Transmission Network Code and ENTSO-E standards.
- Planning the demand coverage on a daily / hourly basis, scheduling for each plant and controlling the level of operational security using the n-1 security criterion.
- Management of ancillary services, necessary for the normal functioning of the system.
- Manage electricity generation and demand in real time, ensuring a balance between electricity generation, exchange and consumption.
- Operimi i sistemit të transmetimit ne kufirin me perdoruesit te rrjetit, konform Kodit të Rrjetit te Transmetimit dhe standardeve të ENTSO-E.
- Planifikimi i mbulimit të kërkesës me bazë ditore/orare, skedulimi orar për çdo central dhe kontroll i nivelit te sigurisë së operimit duke përdorur kriterin e sigurisë n-1.
- Menaxhimi i shërbimeve ndihmëse, të domosdoshme për funksionimin normal të sistemit.
- Menaxhimi i gjenerimit dhe kërkesës se energjisë elektrike në kohë reale, duke siguruar balancën ndërmjet gjenerimit, shkëmbimit dhe konsumit të energjisë elektrike.
- Analiza e punës së Sistemit Energjetik dhe propozimi e masave për ruajtjen e sigurisë së punës, në koordinimin me Përdoruesit e Rrjetit dhe OST-të e rajonit.
- Parashikimi e punës së Sistemit Energjetik në terma afatshkurtër e afatmesëm.
